.ORG used to be the domain for not-for-profit organizations, which, for the most part, try and help people out in some way. While we will make a bit of dough from this, whatever doesn't go to the artists will go back into growing the site, signing up more bands, and having more fun.

Right now we're doing MP3s, but we may move to AAC and a lossless format in the near future if there's demand. The files are grouped as a zip file for easy download.

We're bundling the music and liner notes as a .zip file for easy download. Both Windows and Mac can unzip the download into a normal folder onto your desktop. And if you're on Linux, we're pretty sure you've got a handle on things. If you need help, we got it.

We've built it in here in case we face any tax or other external payments to someone other than the artist. It's .50$ usually. We may build it into the cost of the album, and hopefully we can disappear it, but that's an open issue now.

The bands get to use our technology, and they get a very good percentage of sales. Beyond that, they get the satisfaction that their fans are getting to take the show home with them.

Your Whatevski account allows you to view purchase history, favorites and learn about upcoming releases and secret stuff.

We plan on adding some technology to allow you to piece back your memory from a show, like flickr photos, people you met, and all that radical social networkski.

Is total and important. We won't give up your address to any outside party. The only parties that'll see your email address is good old Whatevski Records (and we won't blow you up, just an occasional hello that you can turn off).

Basically, you alone own the files you bought, but you don't own the rights to the music. The artists and publishers do. We don't even own the music. We're just out there pushing it. That means do right by the artists. We're all for casual music sharing, but not blatant piracy.

Most of our shows will cost under ten bucks, and some as low as $5, the equivalent of a beer, 5 packs of fancy gum - you get it. We don't mind if you pass a few tracks along, but encourage your friend to buy the record if they like it, knowing that your favorite band or artist will be getting paid, yo.

If you want to use the music in a video, or other reproduced format, ask first. The band owns the music, and you don't want to steal from your favorite band, do you?
